This appears most bewildering, so we can perhaps determine that the number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the legal ones, is limited to 2 members, one of them having adjusted their name a short time ago.
The state, in common with most of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast change to free-enterprise system. The Wild East, you could say, to reference the lawless ways of the Wild West a century and a half ago.
Kyrgyzstan’s casinos are in fact worth checking out, therefore, as a piece of anthropological analysis, to see chips being played as a form of social one-upmanship, the conspicuous consumption that Thorstein Veblen talked about in 19th century America.
